EXPLORE

Colombia Uncovered

Art, Culture & Urban Life

Not everything worth discovering can be found in a travel guide. Underground Projects Passion is our space for curiosity, creativity and exploration.

Our focus is Colombia – especially Bogotá – and the people, places, colours, stories and ideas we discover along the way.

We explore the city beyond the obvious. We follow street art through its barrios, discover galleries and museums, look for new flavours, photograph everyday life and collect the moments that make a place memorable. But Colombia is only the beginning.

We also explore other places, perspectives and our own creative projects – from photography and visual experiments to ideas that simply deserve to be explored.

We don’t travel to tick places off a list. We travel to look closer.

UNDERGROUND PROJECTS PASSION

Curiosity leads somewhere.

This is the part of Underground Projects where we follow our own interests.

No brief.  No client. No predefined destination.

Just curiosity, creativity and the freedom to explore.

Travel. Art. Projects. Photography. – That´s our passion.

La Candelaria: Always a Pleasure

La Candelaria, Bogotá's vibrant historic heart, perpetually draws me back. Each visit reveals new facets, shifting with the time of day, week, and weather. Its colorful colonial homes, captivating graffiti, and lively street scene, set against the city's modern skyline, create an endless feast for the eyes. It's a place of enduring fascination, a promise of new discoveries with every return.

In the Heart of Bogotá: A New Normal

Bogotá feels transformed. Once vibrant streets are now quiet, shaped by pandemic restrictions. Masks are everywhere, discipline prevails. My hotel stay feels surreal—am I the only guest? Yet, a warm welcome and a bowl of ajiaco in Tierra Buena remind me: I’ve arrived once more.

Journey to Medellín, The City of Eternal Spring

Medellín, once notorious, now shines as the "City of Eternal Spring," an innovative metropolis. My journey there began with a surprisingly frigid overnight bus ride, but the city's warmth and vibrant street art quickly thawed my spirits. Exploring the transformed Comuna 13 – from its challenging past to its current status as a beacon of urban renewal – revealed an inspiring story of community and artistic expression.

Yet, this beauty masks the profound realities of poverty and struggle, making the cable car ride a deeply moving experience that offers a crucial insight into daily life in this complex district.
